Hard Drive on fire
Its funny how when it comes to PC problems, I sometime see trends, where everyone is having the same or similar problem in the same block of time. Last year there was a time frame where everyone that was asking for help with their PCs was looking to install video cards….some were looking to play games that their current video card didn’t support, some had cards that went bad. There were random reasons (as many as you can have for needing a new video card), but once the first person asked for help installing a new Video card, it seemed like everyone that needed computer help were needing video cards installed.

About couple months ago, I was asked if I could look at a friend of a friends PC because they were having problems. When I looked at it, it ended up being a bad  hard drive. Right after that, there was the PC that got struck by lighting and corrupted the files on the hard drive. Then there was my own hard drive that is clicking and clanking and had to be retired. It went on and on. Every problem had been hard drive problems in one way or another.

The good thing is, that particular plague of PC problems are just about over……with probably the most fitting segway.

This week I got asked a lot of questions about Vista, which I couldn’t answer cause I am still waiting on my upgrade (which I still haven’t received) . So I bought a copy and went to setup a dual boot (Vista and XP) on my notebook. The free ware partition resizer I used to do it screwed up my hard drive (partition)

The good thing, Vista is now installed and I’m loving it….no problems yet
