“The Grindhouse” makes me wish for opening day sale of DVD’s

Saturday afternoon I went to see the new Tarantino / Rodriquez flick Grindhouse. It was a pretty long movie (and the popcorn was insanely expensive). While I had planned to go see that movie I hadnt really kept up with it. Other than the fact that I do like to try to see everything Tarantino does, and it had the beautiful Rosario Dawson, I probably wouldnt even had it on my radar. But I have to say, I really enjoyed it. It kindof re-created that 70’s movie theatre feel in a fun way.
I had a good time, but when I left the theatre, it wasnt that big of a deal, I was like, "yea that was cool". Today however, Ive just had the Grindhouse on my mind all day. Ive been wanting to watch it again. It made me think back to something I heard about a while ago.
Not Sure where I heard it….
But I remember hearing a rumor, or maybe it was just speculation that some movie makers were thinking about releasing DVD’s for some movies at the theatre on the day of release…for a premium price of coarse. At the time, I was thinking, why would I buy the DVD if im going in to watch the movie. I also thought, that would be a tremendouse boost in the quality of illegally downloaded movies.
I dont know if that would work for every movie, but if the Grindhouse had that deal, I probably wouldve skipped back over to the theatre today to see if I can get my copy.
