Rosario Dawson takes to the web with Gemini Division
I logged into Xbox live yesterday, just looking around, and I saw something that I didn’t like. In the video department, they had a “Webisode” for sale. Yes I said for sale. It was only 80 Microsoft points which I think is about a dollar. But it was a webisode, those are usually free online.
Of coarse I decided to check it out and see why a webisode is for sale on Xbox live. The web based show is called Gemini Division. There is quite a significance to this show. It stars Rosario Dawson and it tells a story of a cop who watches her fiance’ get killed while on a trip etc. There seems to be a budget behind this show, but not too big. There is a lot of green screen and “mac book” style effects. But of coarse you have professional actors which elevates this “Mini” series from most of what we see online.
Each episode is anywhere from 2 - 5 minutes long, and it looks like they have been releasing them almost daily. They are in the 30’s or higher as far as episode count and the plan was to make 100 3 minute episodes.
I watched the first 5 episodes and I have to say that I am very interested in seeing more, just didn’t have the time right now. but if you want to check it out, you have 2 options.
Option 1: watch it at www.geminidivision.com. the trick is that the first 24 episodes are at Scifi.com (at this link) so start at scifi.com then the main site.
Option 2: Go to Hulu.com, I think all of the episodes are there.
If you want to pay for it, you can buy it on xbox live, itunes, or the amazon music store.
