Real life…Multiple blogs…How do one manage?
I have a full time job, where I work 12 and a half hour shifts. I also have about an hour drive to work. To top it off, my job rotates from day shift to night shift every week.
A typical day for me looks like this:
- 4:30 a.m- alarm goes off..time to get up
- 5:45 a.m- need to be leaving the house now (dont always make it at that time…shame on me)
- 7:00 a.m- my work shift starts
- 7:30 p.m- work is over, time to go home.
- 8:45 p.m- most of the time, this is around the time I pull into my driveway at home.
- 9:20 p.m- ok I’m in the house, all settled, ready to try to squeeze in all my evening activities (which include blogging, internet surfing, watching tv, gaming, housework, laundry etc).
- 10:30 - 11:30 p.m- Bedtime (again I don’t always make that time frame)
As you can see, days when I am working, I usually have very little time for much else beyond work. Right now I have 2 blogs, and just last week I registered a domain name with Godaddy (use code "pod21" to save 10% on hosting and "blu21" to save 10% on all other orders) because I had an idea about a blog topic I want to start. My problem is obvious, Even though I love blogging, I’m having a hard time maintaining both blogs the way I would like.
This blog is the newer blog, but I admit, I’m having more fun and have started to have more interested in blogging at Jonespc.com than I do at Jonzee.com. If you compare the 2, you’d see that I have been blogging more here than I have over at Jonzee.com. Id have to let you know, at the same time, I have been having problems with the webhost over at jonzee.com and Wordpress (which I use here) is a lot better to use than the Dotnetnuke framework I’m using at Jonzee.com….when it comes to blogging.
But I wonder, how do people manage multiple blogs? Its a tough job if you’re like me….living a full time life on 1 hand and trying to run multiple blogs on the other. And I’m thinking about adding a 3rd blog….and recently started back trying to finish writing a book I started back in 96 (I’m gonna finish it dammit!!).
I don’t know how I’m going to manage things, but the one thing I do know is that I am having a lot of fun doing what Im doing….and thats the most important thing….for now
