Podcast Crossover, 1up Yours meets Totally Rad Show.
A while ago I created a list of my favorite Podcast and recently I got a little surprise, sortof a combination of the 2 in one podcast. The 1up yours show was my number 2 and is a gaming podcast that deals almost exclusively with console gaming. These guys usually have some interesting and entertaining conversation. First you have Shane Bettenhasen, who use to really annoy me with his "almost embarrassing" fanboyism. Now I find Shane a highlight of the show. Yea he is still the "almost embarrassing" fanboy, but at the same time he is on top of things and brings great conversation and info. Then you have Garnett Lee, whom I think my gaming taste most resemble. I mention those 2 because they are probably the most flashy of the group of 4 or 5 but all of them are really good to listen to and I think they always seem to have the right person for the topic(s) they are discussing.
On the other hand, I have my number 1 podcast from that list, the Totally Rad Show. This show is a multi-topic show: Movies, Video games, Comics, TV. The Movie portion of the show seems to be the primary topic of the 3 or 4. in this show. We have Alex Albrecht, whom we all know from Diggnation. I like to think of him as the all around guy of the show. Then theres Dan Trachtenburge, the aspiring director and the "Movie Man" of the show. last but not least you have Jeff Cannata, whom I also thought of as a all around guy.
This past episode of the 1up show had Jeff Cannata as a special guest, and I have to say it was a real treat. Jeff really surprised me as he held his own amongst the likes of Shane and Garnett. He pretty much fit right in with the crew while also bring a little of his own personality to the show that was new and different than the others. One thing I like about the 1up show is the different personalities. Every cast member seem to be their own person and they all compliment each other. Jeff was no different. The show was about 2 hours long but it was a very interesting 2 hours. I hope to see that combination again, or better yet having one of the 1up guys on the Totally Rad Show.
