Free to view web based TV sites are popping up all over the place, with the best so far (in my opinion) being Hulu.com. While listening to one of my favorite podcast, I heard about another such site called Tidaltv.com. Like Hulu, this site have a variety of television shows that you can view for free. When you visit the website, it looks really simple and easy to use. You have the video box and a TV guide style menu that list the shows that are currently playing.

I say currently playing because the way TidalTV is set up, the shows are on a set schedule. If a show is listed to start at 10, it starts at 10. You can start viewing the show at 10:20 and you will pick up the show wherever it is in the broadcast, not from the beginning. A setup like that gives you a more traditional television feel. Not to worry, you can switch to the “on demand” tab on the guide and pick individual shows that you will then see from the beginning when you start it.

While there seems to be plenty to watch on TidalTV, there still more content, or should I say better content on a site like Hulu.com. The video quality, while watchable, but also doesn’t compare to Hulu.com (which I think is pretty good). But hey, its free television on your PC, how can you complain. Check it out (its still in beta).
