Hulu.com features: Create and embed a custom clip. Also watch a few TV shows here.
I got into the Hulu.com beta a little while ago, checked it out a few times but never really looked into it much since the beta invite. Thats not to say that I don’t like Hulu, I actually think the site is a really nice site. Hulu.com is a website created by NBC and FOX that gives you an option other than iTunes to view TV shows online. There is plenty of content on the website, lots of tv shows and they are keeping it pretty much updated with some of the shows showing up pretty close to when they aired on television. More on that later. I decided to check it out the other day to see what had been added since my last visit and noticed a few features that I missed the first few visits.
Create a custom clip
One thing that you see a lot on other video websites such as Youtube are clips of something funny that you have seen on TV shows, commercials and other media. There is a feature in Hulu.com that allows you to create a custom clip. If you look in the picture below, you can see a link to create a custom clip beside the show’s name and info. Click that and you will be taken to a screen with the video and a timeline where you can easily drag the start point and finish point where you want it on the video. When done, you will have a video that just shows the clip that you outlined.

Embed the custom clip on any website
Before, when I talked about Hulu.com, I mentioned that the Tv shows can be embedded on your website, blog, myspace page or any type of webpage that supports embedded video. The cool thing about this, most of what you can embed from Hulu.com are whole episodes. Right now Hulu.com is invite only but if you embed a TV show into your website, anyone visiting your website can view that tv show. Openhulu.com took full advantage of this feature by embedding most of the Hulu.com’s content on that site. If you don’t have a Hulu.com account, you can visit Openhulu.com to check out some of the content. But back to the custom clips. After you’ve made your custom clip, you get an embed code that allows you to embed just the custom clip you created on your website. Just toying around with the custom clip creator, I created a small clip of one of the Family Guy episodes below.
There are still a few more features at Hulu.com that are interesting. Some Im looking forward too such as the HD gallery with high definition video (right now there are only trailers). For your enjoyment, I have embedded a couple of items that are listed at Hulu.com (after the jump)
Remember, most of the TV shows on Hulu.com are the full episodes, not clips or portions of the show. Here are a few for you to sample (or view if you missed).
Knight Rider
Sarah Conners Chronicles (episode 7)
Moment of Truth (episode 5)
There are also a few full length movies listed at Hulu.com.
The Breakfast Club

They should really remove the restriction of their tv shows and movies only to the US.

Does the weather affect the operation of Satellite Tv? Sometimes, on the occasion of heavy sustained rainfall, you may experience a brief period of “rain fade”. It is characterized by the picture freezing momentarily while the receiver re-locates a lost satellite signal.
