How do you know if your PC is good enough for your favorite game?
Recently I bought Age of Conan, I hadn’t played an MMORPG in a while and Ive been hearing so much about this game that I wanted to find out what all the hype is about. Before I play any MMORPG, I usually go and read up on everything about the game so that I have some clue as to what to do when I purchase the game.
One of the comments Ive found to be pretty common is that the game had relatively high system requirements. I started to wonder if I could even play this game on my laptop. After doing a little more research I ran across a little website that will till you if you can run your favorite games.
Can I run AOC on my PC?
That is what I wanted to find out. If you head to systemrequirements.com, there is a little web app called “Can you run it?” Its quite simple but worth a bookmark.
To start there is a list of games that you can pick from, every game isnt listed but enough are there that you could find something that would give you a good idea of what the game you want to play will fare on your PC.

After you pick the game, you get a message asking for your permission to run the app on your PC, Click yes and it will run a test on your computer and spit out the results.
So, if you are curious if your PC can handle Crysis, Age of Conan or any other game, just head over to Can You RUN it?

I recently purchased a game for my PC and once it was installed learned my computer does not meet the requirements. Talk about a disappointment.
To make matters worse, I could not return it because it is software and had been opened.

Agree with “The Small Biz. Guru” I hate it when you buy a game and it doesn’t work on your pc. Of course I don’t have that problem as I have a super computer
But I hear its a pain from my friends

Well… imagine buying a new graphic card every time some game shows up… which you will play for few days and than forget it… talking about waste of money

I play all the newest games that are worth buying. Technology changes fast. I try and have a new computer with the best graphics card and most ram possible at the time. Next year it will be time to update again. PC games are at a point where they are far better than any console game. But, it comes with a price of upgrading your gaming machine or hardware every year or so.
Great post AOC is a good game.

I stopped chasing new games since last year. I think I’m too old for that, I don’t know.

Really sucks my box hit the dirt on me. This little laptop can barely run AoC on minimum settings with a 7600gt. Ah, such is life. Time to bite the bullet and buy a monster PC

Even if your current PC isn’t good enough, computer prices have gone down significantly over the years. You can buy a great gaming rig these days with the top of the line graphics and cpu for like $900 if you go bargain hunting.

I got a Conan-bundle (PC and game) for 8000 kroner, which means about 1600 dollars with the weak dollar today.
