Google enters the browser wars with Google Chrome.
Today is the day…supposedly. Google announced that today there will be a download for a new browser.

Google Chrome
Yep that’s right, Google is joining the browser wars with their own browser. Google Chrome was first leaked by an online comic talking about the browser (which you can read here). What will be different about Google’s new web browser? I’m not too sure on the details but I am eagerly awaiting for the download to be made available.
Word has it that the download for Google Chrome will be made available here (http://www.google.com/chrome) at 2 p.m ET. which isnt too far away (as of this blog post writing). Of coarse I will download it and try it out and get back to you guys on my early impressions.

It will be interesting to see how Google differentiates Chrome from IE and Firefox. My guess is they will somehow make their ads harder to block and/or more prominent when viewed through Chrome… I would normally say a company trying to launch a browser in 2008 is “too little too late”, but don’t underestimate the power of the big G…

Google Chrome, in its first test by me, showed only ADS without any CONTENT!
What a great revenue tool they have made!!!

should be interesting to see if Chrome works more efficiently than FireFox and IE… if it’s faster than Firefox, since isn’t IE, then i’ll use it

Google chrome is a decent browser for just a beta, and although it isn’t up to par with the other more prominant browsers, it has a long way to go. However, at the moment it really isn’t all that great.
Speaking of which here is a review of google chrome with firefox 3.

how would you compare it to firefox? which one do you think would play streaming video better?
September 9th, 2008 at 11:17 pm
For me Firefox worked a lot better with video streaming. Like I said, I had issues with streaming video on Chrome but that one evening I wrote about using chrome was the only time I used chrome. I haven’t loaded it up since

there are several problems with chrome. It is hard to navigate in Chrome, Video steaming sites don’t open rightly etc etc. I think Google should rectify these and other problems.

Thanks for sharing.
I believe that although at the moment google chrome is a little glitchy and does not have too many features, with a little time to develope it may compete with or maybe even pass firefox to become the number 1 web browser.

Knowing google it won’t be long before the heavens and mountains are moved so that the chrome becomes better and better…

Google chrome today is the best thing in the browsing arena. Internet explorer is gradually fading from the people’s mind, (at least mine), the smoothness of google chrome is just commendable. It is clear that IE just can’t stand against chrome.
