Giantbomb, Jeff Gerstmann’s life after Gamespot.
I admit, Ive never been a big fan of Gamespot, as far as reading the website (I do listen to the podcast). So news of Jeff Gerstmann getting fired was almost non news to me. I didn’t know who Jeff Gerstmann was. The thing that did make me interested in that news was the controversy of why he got fired. The word was that he got fired because he gave a negative review of the game Kayne and Lynch, a game that was being heavily advertised at Gamespot.
I’m a working man myself and over the years I have seen some pretty unfair things happen to people (and to myself) in the workplace. It really burns me up when I hear about that kind of wrong doing. Of coarse this was all speculation, Gamespot denied it and Jeff Gerstmann never really talked about it (that I know). I saw the video review and I did think it was pretty harsh, but should he have gotten fired because of it?
Anyway I was just wondering what he has been up to lately, if he was working somewhere else or what was going on with him. After a quick search I found that he kept going with his game journalism and recently launched a new Website, Giantbomb.com
Giantbomb does seem to be a pretty interesting Gaming website, in the vein of IGN or Gamespot. There is of coarse the blog where Jeff and a few others that are involved with the website talk about gaming news and what they are doing. Then there are game reviews, Video reviews and a Podcast.
Looks like one to watch
