Do anyone really use Widgets? I mean really…
I’m not one of those people that automatically know the date at all times….I have to look.
I’m checking my watch, I’m checking my cell phone, I’m checking the toolbar on my pc.
When I first installed Vista on my notebook, I installed a handy little calender widget…excuse me "Gadget". Figured it would be easier to just take a glance at the desktop than it would be to hover the mouse over the time in the toolbar to see the date. I realized today that I haven’t looked at that calender widget since it was installed.
Today, I was looking for the weather, and decided to see if there was a widget. I found one, installed it, and noticed that it had a calender. I thought "hmm thats nice, a calender, now I don’t have to keep looking at the toolbar" then I looked right below the weather widget I just installed and saw that a calender widget was already there…the one I installed a while back.
Do anyone actually use Widgets?
After deleting the calender widgets, I started thinking about how I will download these little things sometimes. They seem cool, but I never use them? Do anyone? I usually end up getting tired of them and have them removed. Or… like now, my browser is usually open 100% of the time my PC is running so the desktop and/or any widgets are very seldom seen.
I think I may just stop trying to convince myself that widgets are useful.

I’m afraid I agree with you. Widgets are cool, but I never use them or look at them even though I have them installed. So is th answer to just delete them altogether?

I dunno, I think that while some are useful in theory, they arent that needed or the info can be found in other ways.
if they create one that does something different than the normal run of the mill utilities, I think it will be a big hit

interesting topic, since I never seen any sites, especially blog such as wordpress or blogspot which didn’t use widget, sometimes most of them is more like a widget market at it sidebar…. my personal opinion as a user is, widget is good as long have a relevance topic to it main sites… to much widget make your site look unprofessional and to crowdy… CMIIW..

I was actually talking about Widgets, or Gadgets that sit on your desktop on your PC. like what you have in Windows Vista. Not the sidebar widgets you find on websites
